Conveyancing in Spain can be a difficult process if you are unsure where to begin, especially when considering any legal and linguistic obstacles you may face.

How do I sell a property in Spain? From engaging an estate agent to market the property for sale, to preparing the completion documentation and attending the completion meeting on your behalf, to transferring the sale proceeds to you, we detail the full process of selling a property in Spain here

Ridding yourself of secured debt

Some people choose to finance a property purchase in Spain by way of a mortgage, but what happens if you can no longer afford to pay off the debt secured by the mortgage?

One option to consider is a voluntary repossession whereby, essentially, you hand your property in Spain to the lending bank, or whoever now owns the secured debt, in settlement of the debt owed. In Spanish, this process is called a “dacion en pago”, meaning a transfer in payment of the secured debt.  Find out more about how we can assist you in ridding yourself of a secured debt.
